String of Hearts

2017-01-04 14.35.33 copy

Origami Hearts!  These puffy vellum beauties are fun to fold, but even more fun to add color and embossing to.

Let's get started.
You'll need
Vellum (4 inch squares)
eBrush with marker adaptor
Markers  (Tombow for this project)
LED Fairy lights (20 lights on a string)
embossing folder
Cut-n-Boss
Glue (optional)

Cut the squares.  Emboss, color as desired.  Using the eBrush makes it EZ to color the vellum in any shade or hue to go with your home or party decor.  I used some soft colors in pink and yellow for these samples. Leave a few plain if you'd like.

Fold the squares as demoed in this video.

2017-01-04 14.21.38 copy
Before "closing" the heart, place on the light strand and secure the bottom of the heart.  You can still adjust the placement as the hearts will slide along the wire.

Clean & Simple LOVE Card Ideas!

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Tyra Babington Cycle 12

Happy Friday! It's Tyra and today I'm returning back to my CAS (Clean and Simple) roots, sharing valentine's day cards featuring Craftwell's Teresa Collins Universal Embossing Folders! Supplies: White card stock, Craftwell Cut 'N' Boss, alcohol ink markers, Tsukineko Black Onyx ink, Thickers, Teresa Collins Universal Embossing Folders: "So In Love" and "LOVE." JustTyra_Craftwell_20160212_ValentineProcessCollage2   Steps:
  1. Use a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of card stock and your favorite paper trimmer to cut a card base sized to 4.25 x 11 inches. Score and fold in half for a card base sized to 4.25 by 5.5 inches. Cut a card panel sized to 4 x 5 inches.
  2. Insert the card panel into the embossing folder. (Alternatively, insert a full size sheet and cut to panel size later!)
  3. Place the embossing folder in between the Cut 'N' Boss platforms ( A + embossing folder + A + D) and insert into the Cut 'N' Boss.
  4. Adhere panel to card base. Add sentiments and embellishments to your taste!
The beauty of the embossing folder patterns demanded that I allow them to be the start of the show! Let's take a look at a few cards I created! Happy Friday! It's Tyra here with a shabby chic style bold and gold valentine's day card to share with you! Let's get to the card first and then I'll share all of the deets: JustTyra_Craftwell_20150204_Valentine_Card2   Supplies: White card stock, foil card stock Craftwell, eBrush and Cut 'N' Boss, alcohol ink markers, Teresa Collins Noteworthy Pocket Dies, various ephemera. TyraBaibngton_Craftwell_20160204_Valentine_Card_CloseUpSteps:
  1. Using a 8.5 x 11 inch piece of card stock and your favorite paper trimmer to cut a card base sized to 4.25 x 11 inches. Score and fold in half for a card base sized to 4.25 by 5.5 inches. Cut a card panel sized to 4 x 5 inches.
  2. Use the eBrush, the 4 x 5 inch card panel and alcohol ink markers in two shades of pink or rose to create an ombre effect on the card panel, spraying the lighter shade near the top of the card base and the darker shade towards the bottom of the card base.
  3. Use Teresa Collins "Be Golden" steel die to cut the sentiment twice from two different colors of foil card stock. Adhere the sentiment from one die cut to the circle portion of the second die cut. Adhere to card base and add ephemera to your taste.
  4. Adhere panel to card base!
Creating this card was a little outside my comfort zone, but once again, the eBrush and Cut 'N' Boss transformed plain card stock into something truly one-of-a-kind! I hope I have inspired you today. Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!

Hugs & Kisses Game Box

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Pam Bray Cycle 12

 Happy Valentine week Craftwell Fans!!!
I made a fun Hugs and Kisses (X's & O's) Game Box for my grand kids and hope to inspire you to create a few for your family or make as gifts!!!!

I began by painting the inside an out of a 8" x 8" Matchbox.

Once dry ... cut one side of the top of box so it will be easier to get into the game box to play.
Cover the sides of the box inside and out using pretty Valentine Paper.
I used Graphic 45 Mon Amour Collection.

Die cut nine 2" square red squares from card stock.
Run them through your Craftwell Cut N Boss using Teresa Collins So In Love Embossing Folder.

Run border strips and embossed squares through the Xyron Creative Station.

Adhere to the bottom of the box in rows of 3.

Die cut X's & O's from pattern paper using the platform, shim, metal plate and two A plates.
Run through Craftwell's Cut N Boss.

Change the permanent adhesvie to the laminate cartridge.
Laminate the X's and O's.
Cut around each piece with scissors to separate.

Your game is ready to play and game pieces are protected.
Decorat a small premade envelop to place all the game pieces in,
it will help to keep them together also.

To decorate the top of the Hugs and Kisses Game Box...
First, die cut doily and star from the Teresa Collins Lover's Lane Pocket Die Set
using the platform, shim, metal plate and two A plates.

Also the Heart Border...

Adhere to top of prepared box.
Add the Love Heart to top with pop dots.
Add key and enamel dots to top.

Place some fun metals to form the closure along with ribbon to tie the box together once the game board has been set inside.

Adhere the heart banner to top of the box top along with a few buttons to finish decorating the top of the Hugs and Kisses Game Box.

I hope you enjoyed my Hugs & Kisses Game Box and remember this is to inspire you!!!
So think of other games you might be able to create not just for Valentines but other holidays and birthdays. My next one is a rendition of Connect Four!!!

Cake Pop DIY Wraps!

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Mitsyana Wright Cycle 12

Hello, Crafty Friends.
A while back my hubby had been asking me to make something crafty to take to work... yeah, who knew guys talk about their wives crafts (especially in the work place). LOL

Well, some time had passed and we had recently celebrated our sons 3rd birthday. It was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday party and our son requested that I make him cake pops for his party. Well, being the crafty mama I am, I made him special Mickey shaped cake pops. This leads back to hubby, I promise...

You see, hubby saw our son's Mouse eared cake pops and he wanted some too. Well, sadly, there were none leftover. And with Valentine's Day right around the corner, I figured why not! So I made hubby his own batch to take to work for him as his co-workers. Yes, I'm one of those wives that send their hubbies to work with baked goodies to share. It's just like sending your kids to school with cupcakes!! Seriously, it is!

But I just couldn't just send him with pops in a plastic bag or a plain cardboard box... nope, not this crafty wifey!! I had to prettify EVERYTHING!!

Starting with the BOX!!

I cut of the flaps a cardboard box we had just laying around the house. transforming it into a tray.
I used this adorable paper stack from DCWV to cover up the outside of my box. I t was my lucky day because I found a box that 12"x 12" and 4.25" high.

So, I cut my patterned paper into 4 - 4" strips, for the base. And 4 and coordinating patterned paper into 4 - 1" strips, for a border. I used my scalloped edge punch to punch a decorative pattern along one edge. I ran all my strips through my Xyron Creative Station.

Then I adhered them to my box. I used the 4" strip toward the bottom and the border strip on top. This cover the .25" gap that the base strips didn't.

I made adorable decorative embellishments with my TeresaCollins Pocket Dies.
I used my Cut'n'boss machine and the bow and tails die (from the Girl's Best Friend set) to make super cute bows.

I made  2 sets of bows and hot glued them to the from of my box. I also topped both bows with a white button and hot glued them into place.

I also cut out 3 hearts and stacked  and glued them onto each other, making it nice and thick like chipboard. Then glued it in place, in between my bows, using liquid glue.

I also die cut 3 arrows to go through my heart... because what is a Valentine heart without a arrow going through it??

Now, my box is complete... and SUPER CUTE!!

But, I didn't stop there! Nope, had to make my pops equally as cute!!

Again, using my Cut'n'boss machine, I cut out fishtail flags and these this gorgeous Teresa Collins script die. This one says "love", perfect for the Valentine theme I'm going for.

After cutting out flags and words, I used 2way glue to attach each word to it' flag. Then hot glued them onto my cake pop sticks.

I made a few different ones, but they are all "love" themed and coordinated with my box.

Here is the finished box of yummies that hubby took to work.

And what do you know, it came back empty!

Well, at least I still have my super cute box!!

Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss (Craftwell)
Patterned Paper- Chick Chat Stack (DCWV)
Xyron Creative Station w/ 9" Permanent Adhesive cartridge
Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
Fishtail STAX  Die (My Favorite Things)
Arrow Die (We R Memory Keepers)
Cake Pops
Cardboard Box

Hope you enjoyed today's project!!

Until next time...
HAPPY CRAFTING!!

Valentine Gable Gift Box

We are delighted to have as a guest designer, Jodi Isenberg-Clark. She is a very talented lady! She is also on the Spectrum Noir Design Team! We love when Jodi presents us with her work! Even though Valentine's day has passed, this is a project whose gift is a delight!

Hello, and welcome to my latest project, a valentine gable box! For this project, I combined my Craftwell eBrush with my Spectrum Noir markers to create this cute gift box that I cut out with my Cricut.
To begin, I used my Cricut to cut out a bunch of different heart shapes in different sizes. I used both the positive and negative shapes for eBrush masking. I first used the negative shapes and placed them where I wanted my darkest hearts to be, then covered the remaining paper (using vellum here) with scraps to protect from overspray. The four heart shapes will be sprayed in the picture below.
HeartMasks1
Using various shades of Bright Pink Spectrum Noir markers, I started with the lightest color, sprayed a coat over my paper, then proceeded to spray a coat of each different color that I was using to create my dark pink hearts. After eBrushing the hearts, and then removing the masks, my paper looks like this:
Hearts1
After completing the darkest hearts, I laid some of the positive heart shapes in various spots over my paper, creating masked areas that are protected from ink spray.
HeartMasks2
I proceeded to eBrush each color over the entire paper again, making sure to go over the first four hearts that are on the paper to darken them even more. After eBrushing the same colors over the the entire background, I removed some of the heart shapes, then eBrushed the same colors again, going from lightest to darkest, making sure to go over all of the paper, including the hearts that are already eBrushed.
Hearts2
Repeat this process until all hearts have been removed and the entire background has been eBrushed with layers of your chosen colors. It should look something like this:
Hearts3
Next, I cut out the gable box using my Cricut. I cut out a window on both the front and back of the box and glued in a section of my background to fill the window.

The completed project looks like this:

Valentine's Card from Guest Designer - Penny Ward!

Welcome our Guest Designer - Penny Ward!
Penny has joined us today with a beautiful Valentine's Day project! Please leave her a note and let her know that you too are enamored with her card!

Hello eBrush friends! Penny Ward here today as a Guest Designer and I am so thrilled to have been invited. I have been using the eBrush for a couple of months now, and it has become my favorite card making tool.
With the holidays behind us, I am moving onto Valentines cards. (Where did 2014 go?)

I love using stencils with my eBrush and I usually end up making my own with thin metal dies and clear acrylic cardstock. Run a baby wipe over it when you are finished and it is ready to use again.

I love the look of splatters on my cards and it is so easy to make your own “paint” with a little water and irRESISTible spray, reinker or an ink pad.

A portion of my sentiment has been heat embossed, trimmed and popped up with foam adhesive. I love using my practice scraps for sentiments or embellishments.

Don’t limit your eBrush to just paper. How about color matching your twine?

My base card is White cardstock cut to 5.5 x 8.5 inches, then folded in half. eBrush opposite corners for an unusual look, then adhere card front to base with foam adhesive.

Die cut an extra heart, adhere to card front over the twine with foam adhesive. Coat heart with Neon Pink Amplify!, (shhh…this is a brand new product being introduced at CHA, but you never saw it here) then heat with a heat gun and watch the magic happen. 

Make a tiny bow from leftover twine and adhere to puffy heart embellishment. Place small dots of irRESISTible Pico Neon Pink as desired.
I hope you picked up a tidbit or two from my creation today. We would love to see what you are working on with your eBrush. Visit our eBrush by Craftwell Facebook page and post a picture….you just might be our next Guest Designer.

Supplies:
Craftwell:  eBrush, eBosser
Spectrum Noir markers:  LV1, LV2, PL2, PL5, BP4
Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko:  irRESISTible Neon Pico Pink, Amplify! Neon Pink, Memento Luxe Elderberry ink, White embossing powder,
Simon Says Stamp - Sending & Wishing stamp set
Craft Mat
The Twinery:  Lilac stripped twine
Miscellaneous:  Acrylic cardstock, foam adhesive, heat gun, tape

Thank you so much Penny for sharing this wonderful project! I bet that many will try some of the great techniques you shared!
