Bella Rose Altered Spool

Hi there,

Karen here, sharing an Altered Spool that I created with a recycled ribbon spool, the Bella Rose embossing folder and Cut N Boss machine. The roses on the Bella Rose folder are full and perfect for coloring. The roses were embossed on watercolor paper.  I colored them with watercolor inks by Prima and blended them with an aqua painter.  After coloring the roses, I lightly sanded the roses with a sanding bar to re-define the outline of the roses.

To add some height to the altered spool, I added some wooden fixtures. This gave the perfect opportunity to add some coordinating flowers, butterflies, leaves, beaded pins and ribbon that I dyed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists (Black Cherry, Tropical Pink and Marmalade). Using a paintbrush, I tapped on some gesso and highlighted the ribbon to enhance the overall design.

This was such a fun project and great way to use the Bella Rose embossing folder and the Cut N Boss machine.

Thanks so much for visiting today.
