eBrush Siphon Adaptor!
The eBrush is a mighty tool for so much. We all know and love what we can achieve with markers. However the siphon adaptor now opens so many other opportunities. I decided to do a quick gift for a friend. I used Craftwell’s eBrush and eBrush Siphon Adaptor along with DecoArt’s Satin Multi-Purpose acrylic. I also had painter’s tape.
I purchased the cup at the dollar store and wanted to try out the new dishwasher safe Multi-Surface acrylic. A dishwasher-safe finish can be achieved on glass painted with Multi-Surface by air curing for 4 days, then baking for 30 minutes at 325°. Which is so cool. I always used vinyl and noticed it peeled off of my cups after dishwashing so this is fabulous.
I taped off my design, a peppermint stripe was what I was aiming for. Now for some tips on the siphon. Make sure you press the tape firmly down. This is not like the alcohol markers and doesn’t dry as fast. So if you put a lot of paint on it will leak under the tape. Do light sprays in layers. I also made sure that there weren’t in hard parts in my paint. I normal use a filter from an auto paint store to make sure that my paint has no lumps in it. These do clog up your siphon. Usually new bottles of paint are pretty lump free.
I also used a hair dryer to gently dry the paint before removing the tape. I did have a little bleed on my tape but was able to clean it up. I gently used a wipe and cleaned it before baking.
I am happy with my results and had fun making it. Now filled with Hot Cocoa Mix and Tazo Zen tea it will make a nice gift.
