Christmas Shadow Box!

Design Team: Alexia Misso Cycle 10

Alexia is back today with a gorgeous step by step tutorial for a Christmas Shadow Box! See the detailed project below!

Hi all! It is Alexia here and today I want to share an altered shadow box project with you. Inside the shadow box is a layout I created recently and shared on my blog last week. I will share the tutorial on how to alter the shadow box however, if you are also interested in creating the similar layout, you may check the blog post here for the tutorial (it uses Teresa Collins’ Cut N’ Boss too!).

So here is the shadow box project for today:

Tutorial on altering the shadow box:
Step 1: First you will need a 12x12 shadow box, I got mine from Michaels.

Step 2: Choose a 12x12 patterned paper, place it behind the box opening and trace the shape of the window.

Step 3: Cut out the inside shape as pictured below. After that, cut a line diagonally (where the length is less than the A4 size embossing folder (please ignore the extra white line).

Step 4: Place the cut outs above in the embossing folder and run through Cut N’ Boss machine

(one at a time to avoid ripping of paper)

Step 5: Run through Cut N’ Boss Machine

Step 6: Apply glue on the cover of shadow box, adhere the embossed patterned paper from Step 5 to the cover.

This is the result from Step 6.

Step 7: Mix together well blue dew drops ink with Teresa Collins’ Modeling Paste and spread it around the shadow box cover. Let dry, then apply another layer but this time only plain white modeling paste.

Step 8: Start embellishing the cover with paper flowers or butterflies.  Here is the end result:

I hope you like the project! Thank you for visiting Craftwell’s blog today, I truly appreciate your time! I wish you have a fabulous day, happy creating!
