Design Team: Denise O'Connor Week 6 Term 2

Denise O'Connor: Valentine's Day Party Decor!

It's challenge week with our February sponsors! We have challenged our DT team to create some amazing party decor, using Unity Stamps and our eCraft Diecutable Cardstock! Denise, took the challenge and treated it like child's play!

See what she created today:

IT”S PARTY TIME!!!! Who doesn’t love a good party? Every good party needs some décor to help set the theme…so since it is the season, I decided to do a little Valentine’s Day Party Décor. What is great about this project is that it can be easily made for other types of parties and our sponsors for this month are just perfectly paired up for a project like this!

First up is the female version! I have a male version that I will get to in a minute…let me show you how easy this is to put together. I also LOVE that this can act as a centerpiece (without a name of course), but also a placecard or a party favor.
The first step was to select my container. I have a bunch of these Mason jars lying around and decided that they would make the perfect base. So I filled them up with some Valentine’s M&Ms, but any candy can work for this! Then I cut a circle to fit on the lid using the eCraft Diecutable Cardstock in Ripe Tomatoes.

I stamped a doily image on the circle from Unity Stamps Generations stamp set. I adhered that circle onto the Mason jar lid and then I used my Big Bite to punch three holes in the lid. If you do not have a hole punch that can do this, you can always use a power drill.

I had purchased these Fannie Mae chocolate lollipos from my local grocery store and knew that I had to use them! After all, everything is better with chocolate right??? I decided to make two more elements and so I turned to my trusty Lettering Delights for some inspiration and found these wonderful SVG files perfect for my project.
The large scalloped heart and the double heart came from the Yours Truly set and the postage stamp came from the Sweet Nothings Tag Cards set. I used the eCraft Diecutable Cardstock for all the shapes and I used the colors of Ripe Tomatoes, Cotton Candy and Grape Jelly. I also used the Lettering Delights font called LD Buttercream to cut out the names in eCraft Diecutable Cardstock in Licorice.
Of course, I needed to add some embellishment to these, so for the postage stamp I stamped some more of the doily images from Unity Stamps Generations stamp set in Distress Aged Mahogany and then the accompanying sentiment from that same set in black on top. On the scalloped heart, I used the fashionista from the Unity Stamps Going Retro stamp set and the matching sentiment there as well.
Now for the male version…

Notice that stamp on the scalloped heart….I just LOVE this stamp. It is a Unity Stamps Itty Bitty called Hey Stud!! My hubby is going to get a kick out of this when I give it to him tomorrow!
Now, to picture the possibilities, can’t you just see this made for a Baby Shower? How about a Wedding Shower? Oh and then you have just about every single holiday, Easter is coming up…maybe I need to start cutting up some bunnies!
Hope you enjoyed my Party Décor today and be sure to come back everyday this week since all the Design Team ladies will be showcasing Party Décor using their eCrafts, the eCraft Diecutable Cardstock and the amazing Unity Stamps!!
