Monday is Home Kool Kitty Day!!

Join our fun times!

We are having fun making little baskets for our Easter celebration! We love playing with our Cut N Boss! Even Mattie can work it! Of course Mommy is always with us. Here is our supply list! Please watch our video!

Materials:
paper
Sizzix basket cutting dye
glue
eyelet fasteners and tool
Cut n Boss machine

Cut your basket out using the paper and basket cutting dye.
Glue the inside of the basket together.  Use the eyelet fasteners and tool to fasten the basket's top and handle together.

***If you want the handle to move, do not fasten the eyelets too tight.  Just enough to hold them in place.

Next week...stay tune.  We will be making eggs out of egg cartons for our baskets.

You make my heart sing cards by Home Kool Kitty Group

Our homeschool group are loving their Craftwell Cut N Boss and also their eBrush! Today they create cute cards sharing their love for crafting!

Supplies:
Craftwell cut n boss
eBrush
Cardstock
Sharpies
Back of heart shaped candy box
Pipe cleaners
Wiggly eyes
Cutting dies – heart shape
Glue stick or Liquid glue
Hot glue gun
Scissors

***Adult supervised required***

How excited we are to share this craft with you. I love getting to spend time with my kids and doing something fun, that they love as well.  Plus, this also helps with their eye to  hand coordination and simulates their imagination.
Let us get started:
First we cut the back of the candy box in half. Next, you are going to draw the outline of the bird on one half.  The head is a medium circle, the body is an oval then a straight line for the tail. Cut the bird out.

Now for some color, feel free to color your bird any color you want. I let my kids have fun with it and do whatever colors they want. You can do multi-color, single colors, draw on wings, hearts, polka dots…below is a picture of the eBrush with a gold metallic sharpie.  We used SP-01 adapter for our sharpie.

We are going to emboss our cards.  Matty chose the multi-stripe patterned embossing folder Reilee the diamond pattern.  They used the cut n boss to make emboss the cardstock.

Folded the card in half. Next the bird was placed on the front, they used a glue stick.

We used the glue gun to glue on the eyes. Matty asked mommy to help him.

They used the heart shape cutting die for the bird’s wing, you only need to cut one.

Once cut, glue to your bird to make a wing.

Next we are going to shape the feet, by making small bunny ears with the pipe cleaner. You will nee to make two.  The cutting about a 2 inch piece of pipe cleaner and folding in half twice to make the beak. Use the glue gun to glue down the feet and beak.

We used special scissors to cut the edge of our cardstock it was then used inside the card to write the sentiment. Once cut , paste inside the card.

Then we wrote, “ You Make my Heart Sing…Love, …” inside the card.

We practice recycling, so all of our scrapes and extra pieces are placed in our recycle bins,

Valentine Lovebugs, Snails and Flowers...oh my... New Team Group! Home Kool Kitty!

We are delighted to have a special DT group join our roster. Home Kool Kitty is a home school, gardening loving, recycling young family group! They are using Craftwell products to express their fun side. Welcome to Ericha, Reilee, and Matthew!

Valentine Lovebugs, Snails and Flowers…oh my…

Materials:
Cardboard egg carton
Glue gun (but you can use regular liquid glue – might take longer to dry))
Cardstock
Pipe cleaners
Sharpies (if you get any on your skin rubbing alcohol will remove it)
Small flower pot
Wiggly Eyes
Heart cutting dyes
E brush
Craftwell Cut n Boss
***Please note -  Adult supervision is needed.***

Cut the egg carton bottom.

Next use the eBrush and a sharpie marker to paint the egg carton shell. These will be the bases for the bugs and flowers.

Next cutting the wings and flower petals.  I used the large heart die as the wings and leaves, and the smaller one for the petals.

My daughter, Reilee loves cutting the shapes. Even Matthew has a good cutting, with mommy’s help of course.
You will need two wings for each bug and 8 petals. We used a hot glue gun and glued the petals to the backs of the egg carton shells.

Next bend a pipe cleaner in half and glue to the back on the flower.  The add the large hearts to the stem for leaves.
Next to work on the bugs.  First we made our love bugs…
Being silly and having fun!
Glue on your wiggly eyes.  Then glue on the outline from the heart as wings, gently bend outward to glue the solid heart as the main wing.  See the pics below…

Now for our snail…we will use wiggly eyes and a pipe cleaner. Follow the pictures below on how to shape.  Rest the egg carton shell on the pipe cleaner to look like below, then glue into place…

Now to make the snails head…cut about 1 ½ inch above the shell.

Next take the piece you cut and fold it to the length of about 2 inches  (4 inches total) , cut anything over
.
Make a hook from the 1 ½ in “neck” and wrap it around the folded piece. Next take the ends on the folded and form into circles – as below.

Next glue the eyes on the spiral circles you just made.

Now your bugs are done.

Last step fill your pots and place in your flowers and bugs.  AND OF COURSE HAVE FUN!!!

We will see you next week as we share our family's projects! Please visit our new blog "Home Kool Kitty". We share our home school adventures and so much more!
