DIY Birthday Gift Bags!

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Alexia Misso

Alexia Misso has a cute idea for DIY Birthday or any party gift bag! See her cute project below!

Hello all Craftwell fans! It's my turn to share a project with you today, I made the following birthday gift bags using 12x12 card stocks and bow embellishment from Craftwell's bow dies. You can never have too much gift bags in the house!

To make this cute gift bags, I first score a 12x12 card stock by following the guidelines as shown below

Rotate the card stock 90 degree to the left and score at 3 1/2" and 11 1/4"

Cut the access card stock as shown in the picture below

Emboss just the opening flap for the gift bag, run it through Cut 'n' Boss machine. I used Darice's star embossing folder here.

The combination for the platform is A/Cardstock + Embossing Folder/A/D

Here is how it looks like after embossing

Close and seal the bottom of the gift bag

Prepare the bow embellishments, love this bow dies so much! The platform combination for this would be A/Cardstock + Dies/A/B/D

Using ribbon to make the fastener for the gift bags, staple ribbon end to end and adhere the bow to the ribbon.

This is how it looks like, how do you like it?

Hope you like the DIY project I'm sharing today! Have a wonderful day!

Owl Gift Bag

Ebrush Design Team: Mitsyana Wright Week 6 Cycle 2

Hey Crafty Friends... I'm here bring you another project for team ebrush with our awesome sponsor Latina Crafters!! I love this owl stamp! I think this little owl trio is just corky!! And they always seem to bring a smile to my face. So I decided to use them to decorate a gift bag... because who says that stamps only have to be used on cards?!!

Supplies Used
Ebrush (Craftwell)
Some Birdy's Birthday (Latina Crafter)
Spectrum Noir Markers (CG3, CG4, OR1, OR2, TB1, TB4, TB5, LY3, CT2, GB3, GB5)
Cupcake Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug- Once Upon A Princess Set)
Spellbinder Nestabilities Fleur de Lis Squares
Canson 150lb Illustration Paper
Patterned Paper (DCWV- The Great Vacation Stack)
White Cardstock
Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko)
Small Gift Bag
Grosgrain Ribbon
Button
Glue Gun and Glue Stick
Scissors

I start off with stamping my Latina Crafter's Some Birdy's Birthday Stamp with Momento Tuxedo Black ink onto illustrator paper... this paper is made for manga illustrators that generally use alcohol ink markers. It is very heavy weight and dense so it keeps the ink from bleeding so much.
I colored in my image with my Spectrum Noir Markers. For the Blue parts I used TB1, TB4, & TB5. For the Orange parts of the body and wings I used CT2, GB5, & OR1.
For the beaks and feet I used OR1 & OR2.
For the Green parts of the birthday hats I used CG3 & CG4... and for the Yellow parts I used LY3, CT2, GB3.
I embossed a cupcake background from a 4.75"x6.25" piece of regular white cardstock.

Then I ebrushed my embossed cardstock with the same colors I used to color my image (with the exception of the yellows). I did it in sections at a time starting with the lightest of the colors and using the darker toward the edges.

Here it is with the rest of the colors filled in.

Then I used my die to cut out my ornate square from patterned paper and then again used the same die to cut out my image.

I trimmed away the scroll work off my image die cut.

I then ran it through my Xyron 3" Sticker Maker and adhered it to the blue cut out making it looked framed.

I quickly ran my ebrushed background panel through my Xyron 5" Create-a-Sticker...

And adhered it to the front of my gift bag, right above the fold line. I didn't all my hard work to get smashed in the crease of the bag. And if the recipient want to store the bag it would fold easily.

I used foam adhesive to the back of my image and added it to the front panel.

I then tied a double loop bow and hot glued it to the front of my bag. Then I immediately glued my orange button to the front of my bow.

At the last minute I decided I wanted matching tissue paper to go with my gift bag... but all I had was white tissue paper... which was just fine by me!!

With the help of my decorative edge scissors, in this case a Zigzag edge, I cut the two ends of my tissue paper. I then ebrushed the cut edges with OR2. Just doing the ends gave it a nice ombre effect... and I love it!!

And here is my finished gift bag...

I hope you enjoyed today's project!!

Happy Crafting and THANKS for stopping by!!

eBrushed Hawaiian gift bag & tag

Ebrush Design Team: Mitsyana Wright Week 6 Cycle 1

Dreams of far away exotic places come with this great project from Mitsy! I am just in love!

Merry Christmas eBrush fans!! Today I have a beautiful ebrushed gift set to share with you all. I wanted to do something that is a reflection of my heritage. Although I was not born in Hawaii, I did grow up in Hawaii and spent most of my life there. So, I wanted to do a little something special that is a reflection of my heritage.

Supplies you will need:
eBrush with Sharpie (SP) adapter
Metallic Gift Bag
Dreamweaver Stencils ( LL482, LS27, & LM204)
Background stencil (for more info click here)
Painter's tape
Oval Die
Tag Die
Metallic Paper
Sharpies (red, orange, yellow, light green, & green)

With a few item I turned this dollar store bag into a trendy upscaled gift.

With painter's tape I taped a down a border around my stencil onto my dollar store bag. This helps keep the stencil from moving and gives me a clean line around my bag. I put a cut out of an oval under my background stencil to mask off an area for my other stencil image to be set into.

I airbrushed the background onto my bag using my eBrush machine with the Sharpie adapter and a red Sharpie. Then I removed the stencil and oval mask.

In then revealed masked oval area I centered my  Dreamweaver pineapple stencil (LS27) and masked it with more painters tape. I then ebrushed the pineapple using my sharpies starting with my yellow, then orange for the base of my pineapple, and then light green and green for the leaves.

I masked off my Dreamweaver's Season's Aloha (LM204) stencil above the red stenciled area and ebrushed my sentiment.

Here is the image of the finished bag .

I also removed the metallic "rope" that came with the bag and replaced it with burlap ribbon. This gave it a more luxurious look of that of an upscale boutique store.

Using my tag die I cut a tag out of metallic paper to match the bag. I repeated the pineapple motif my ebrushing a bigger Dreamweaver pineapple stencil (LL482). Again, using yellow, orange, light green, and green sharpies. Instead of ebrushing the same red background I opted for just a simple red border.  I did want them to coordinate but I  didn't want it to be too "matchy-matchy".

 The results were just stunning!!

We are a family that supports local artisans so I paired my gift bag and tag with a wine bought from our local winery.

I hope this inspires you to turn your dollar store finds into something luxurious too!

And as we say in Hawaii...
