Christmas in July

Ebrush Design Team: Yolie Burke Week 6 Cycle 2

Hello and happy Friday, this is Yolie from the Team eBrush. Today I'm sharing a little Christmas in July with Latina Crafter, our sponsor this month.

I took a 3"x4" Christmas tree stencil by Latina Crafter and eBrushed with Spectrum Noir red and green markers. After removing the stencil, I realized the background was too white, so using the first setting and holding the eBrush wand approximately 4 inches away, I added a bit more of the red.

I used the cork paper to add a bit of texture and stamped the sentiment, "Merry Christmas" on vellum.

I additionally created a Christmas ornament using a bitty button "Peace, Joy and Love" and topped it with a tiny burlap bow.

Craftwell's eBrush Team joins to celebrate Latina Crafter's Anniversary!

We are so excited to share the news about our monthly sponsor, Latina Crafter. I would love to share their unique story behind the scenes of this wonderful crafting company!

This is Diana's story of the birth of Latina Crafter.

In June 2011, after been in the Scrapbooking Industry for over a decade, I started Latina Crafter, with the idea to provide stamps in Spanish. Funny that was all I had in mind to start. As a Latina I know how hard it is to find anything related to crafts and art in the Spanish language; products, tutorials, blogs, etc. and that’s the reason why Latina Crafter was born. I felt there was a real need to serve the Latina group and their needs. When we started, 4 years ago, we had with only four stamps sets: Felicitaciones, No hay nadie como tú, Para alguien especial & Familia. I tried to cover a lot with those sets because I was scared that would be all people wanted and no more. I needed them to cover a variety of themes and occasions and tried to do all with the four sets. Happily that was not the end of our story but only the beginning! Now we have around 300 exclusive stamp sets, dies, bitty buttons, stencils, wood veneers and other products to help with your creative projects, all that thanks God and our dear followers YOU!!

In addition to stamps in Spanish now we have stamps with cute and whimsical illustrations that has sentiments in Spanish and English. It is wonderful to provide stamps and sentiments in both languages. We have been blessed with a great Design Team, an amazing Team of Illustrators and on top of all that the best customers on earth. We have customers all over the world and that’s simply awesome, something I never dream about it. We keep our goal of offering stamps in Spanish dear to our heart, but also we have going above and beyond to share our love and passion for this industry and we are crossing over to the English speaking community with great success and such a warming welcome that I didn’t expect and it has touched my heart, I feel like a happy and blessed girl. We will keep working hard and with passion to keep growing Latina Crafter and keep giving the service and love you want. Thanks for all your support.

We are so happy to support Latina Crafter by sharing this wonderful story. This is such an inspiration to those interested in their dreams of starting something. It can be done! It is a wonderful industry that holds so much for so many! Hats off to the sentiment that started this business and continues to be the reason so many more start!

Valentines for my HUBBY

I just love that Mitsy has designed a very lovely yet masculine card for Valentines' Day. I love her crisp designs. I am going to follow her lead for my husband's card.

Hey eBrushing friends... Today I have 2 cards to show you.

As we all know Valentines Day is fast approaching. And, if you are like me it's very hard to find card that appeal to your male counterpart. Most store bought cards are frilly or cutesy, doused with glitter, and mostly attract the female eye.

So, this year, why not try making your own Valentines Day card for that special guy in your life.

Supplies Used:

eBrush by Craftwell

Teresa Collins Pocket Dies (Lovers' Lane Die Set)

Personal Die Cut Machine

Studio Calico - Huey's Masks (V-pattern mask)

Patterned Paper (Craft Smith - Natural Luxury)

Metallic Paper (DCWV- Metallic Stack - gold, silver)

Cardstock (black, white)

Spectrum Noir Marker (IG1)

Sharpie (Metallic- Gold, and silver)

3D Lacquer

Blue Painter's Tape

I started by ebrushing my pattern onto my white cardstock with my Studio Calico Mask and Spectrum Noir Marker in IG1. I used blue painter's tape around the edges of my paper to secure in place.

I chose very masculine colors for my card. Shades of grays, black, and metallics. I chose the lightest shade of gray I had for my background. I did this for two reasons... 1) I didn't want it to be too stark and overwhelming against the white, and 2) If it was too light I could simply layer the color on until I got to the shade I wanted... remember, you can always add but it is very hard to take away!

One I ebrushed my background and matted it onto black cardstock I notice it needed a little extra something... I simply ebrushed a few "splatters" with my metallic gold Sharpies.

Aaaahhh... much better!!

Then I cut out this phrase from my Teresa Collins Pocket Dies and personal die cut machine. I ebrushed the top half with my silver Sharpie and the bottom with gold. I then adhered it to my card front. Again, something was missing, it seemed too flat to me... so, I added 3D Lacquer directly to my die cut phrase. I also cut out a heart frame and "happy" flag and glued everything to a 6"x6" card I made from black and gray chevron paper.

And here is my finished card:

I loved this color scheme an layout so much I decided to make a second card. Same color scheme, same layout, different dies.

Here I used more Teresa Collins Dies.. from the same set , Lovers' Lane, and made an additional card for my sweetie.

And here are my finished Valentines Day cards.

Mixed Media Layout!

Ooops Mitsy did it agaim she went outside of her comfort zone and discovered new ways to wow us with her eBrush! I am so inspired by all of these wonderful techniques! Step out of your zone with me!

Hello Crafty Friends... For today's project I went waaaay out of my comfort zone and did my very first mixed media layout. I've always wanted to give mixed media a try but was too scared to, but after this I cam honestly say that it wasn't as scary as I thought it was going to be. I learned that any mistakes I thought I made were easily forgiven with more distressing and a lot more color.

Spectrum Noir Markers (True Black, TN8, PP2)

Sharpie (Gold Metallic)

Tim Holtz Layering Stencils- Splatters & Measured

Sizzix Dies - Jelly Frames & Decorative Accents

Hero Arts Stamp- Raindrop Background

Moment Ink Pad- Tsukineko (Tuxedo Black)

Gesso

Mod Podge

Lace

Cheese Cloth

Patterned Paper (Fancy Pants- Fancy Free Collection)

Chipboard

Flat Back Pearls

Assorted Paper Flowers (Prima Marketing Inc.)

Bling (Prima Marketing Inc.)

Homemade Modeling Paste

I started by adhering a piece of patterned paper to a 12"x12" piece of chipboard. This will help prevent warping and keep my work surface flat. I then tore random pieces of coordinating patterned paper and glued and sealed it with Mod Podge onto the page.

Then, I stamped my layout using my Hero Arts' Raindrops Background stamp in Momento ink.

After stamping I created texture with my modeling paste and my Tim Holtz stencils in random areas around my page. Then I ebrushed over those same areas in my Spectrum Noir markers PP2, TN8, and True Black. The absolute best thing about ebrushing color onto my page is that there is virtually no drying time on the ink. So I can move right to the next step!

I cut 3 frames from my patterned paper with my Sizzix Jelly Frame die and saved the centers on the side. I ebrushed the frames using my Spectrum Noir Marker in TN8 in the Spectrum Noir (SN) adapter.

I used my Sizzix Decorative Accents die and cut this regal shape out of chipboard. I then painted it with gesso then sprayed it with my eBrush with my Sharpie (SP) adapter and Gold Metallic Sharpie and then with my Spectrum Noir True Black marker again in the (SN) adapter around the edges.

I also used my eBrush to spray silhouettes from my Sheena Nature stencil onto the centers of my two of my 3 frames. For this I used my Spectrum Noir marker PP2 in my Spectrum Noir (SN) adapter head.

I adhered all my frames and their centers onto a sheet of craft paper. Then I cut them all out creating solid pieces.

I also ebrushed my cheese cloth in Spectrum Noir TN8 to give it a mre worn and aged look. Again no drying time!! Yay!

I adhered lace and cheese cloth to my page with Mod Podge and then added all my finished pieces die cuts over top with more Mod Podge. This ensures a very strong hold.

Lastly, I added my Prima flowers topped with flat back pearls and bling to the page.
