I have always loved shakers... never stopped loving them and I doubt I'll ever quit loving them. But I was so happy that they became hip again. And now more than ever they are the "IN" thing to make... and it seem you can't make a shaker without  another thing that has become super popular... sequins!! Awesome!! Nothing like taking handmade card and turning them into handheld paper toys for adults!! Because let's face it whoever you give a shaker card to is going to stand there and play with it and shake it for at least 5 minutes straight!!

Here's how I made my shaker.

First, I took my heart die from the Teresa Collins Lover's Lane Collection and orange cardstock and ran it through my Cut'n'Boss machine. Then I repeated that step with an orange sheet of foam.

Next, the edges I airbrushed of the paper heart with my eBrush machine and an orange Sharpie.
Then I ran both hearts through my Xyron Creative Station.

I peeled off only my cardstock heart and adhered it to my acetate sheet.
Then I took my scissors and fussy cut / trimmed my heart out and adhered the foam heart to the opposite side if the cardstock heart. I this point I also used this same heart to trim out a heart out of patterned paper.

I also started to created an A2 (4" x 5 1/4") sized card front. The blue cardstock measures 4" x 5 1/4" and the yellow cardstock measures 3 13/16" x 5 1/8". I ebrushed the edges of the blue cardstock with an aqua Sharpie. And for the yellow cardstock I ebrushed the outer edges in yellow and orange.

I adhered both card front panels together using my Xyron Mega Runner and the tied a tied an orage bow on top the panels.

Because this is going to be a shake I wanted to make sure that the shaker box and card front can withstand a bit of weight so I ran my heart back piece, that I cut out of patterned paper earlier, and card front panels through My Xyron creative Station... bow and all!!

Then I removed the heart of the protective backing a adhered into place.

I added a small amount of orange teal, and yellow sequins and turquoise seed beads toward the center of the heart. Making sure notto put too much or my shaker will not close properly.

Then I took my heart foam side up and added Diamond glaze to the foam making sure that there were no gaps in the glue especially around the edge closest to the opening. If there are gaps the seed beads and sequins may leak out.

Then I flipped over and gave it a good firm press in place and left it to set. It is very important at this point that I LEAVE IT ALONE and let it dry!! I have to resist the urge to shake it and play with it!! All my hard work could be ruined in mere seconds if I don't... SO I BACK. AWAY. SLOWLY.

And while that's drying I used the "love" and "you" word dies from the Teresa Collins Memory Collection to cut light blue cardstock. I used 3 cuts of each. I wanted them to be thick like chipboard, Then I ebrushed the bottom half of the words in an aqua colored Sharpie ( just 1 of each word). Then with my glue pen adhered them all together.

Lastly I adhered my words to my shaker using more diamond glaze as an adhesive and let it dry.

And here is my finished shaker card!! It is Super bright and cheerful! Guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face!
