Fall Felt Wreath

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Joy Dickson Cycle 10

We are joyful is Fall! but even more so that Joy Dickson created a cute little wreath to decorate your front door! See her easy tutorial below!

Hi Friends! It's Joy from Joy's Life.com here today sharing how to create a felt leaf grapevine wreath. It's super easy!

This project is so easy and so fun. You just need cheap felt from your local craft store, a leaf die (I'm using Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves), Teresa Collins hello die, glitter paper, a grapevine wreath, a hot glue gun and a die cutting machine. I'm using the Cut 'n' Boss.

I love the Cut 'n' Boss because it works with so many different kinds of dies AND because it's electronic. Just plug it in, push the dies though and let the machine do the work. YAY to that! I just don't want to hand crank that many felt leaves. You know what I mean? Anyway...I've shown you how to cut felt in the Cut 'n' Boss using thin dies but here's how to do it with the thick ones. You want to use the A platform, the die face up, the material and the other A platform. A few times I had to push the platforms in further than usual for my machine to realize I was putting something in there, then it took it. You might try putting these small, chunky dies closer to the end of the platform so your machine "feels the sandwich" if it's not recognizing anything being there at first.

Can you believe that this machine can cut that kind of detail out of felt? I'm astounded EVERY time. Really. Each time I put a die in there and try cutting something that I believe is difficult to cut with detail I think, "There's no way this will work". So far, it's worked every time and I'm newly impressed every single time. LOL!

This project is seriously easy. The machine does all the work. The hardest thing you have to do is choose colors of felt and glue the leaves onto the wreath. That's my kind of home decor project. I'm using a 12" grapevine wreath by Darice. My hot glue gun is by Martha Stewart. I like it because it has a low and high temperature switch. That allows me to use all kinds of glue sticks.

I'm using this pretty "Hello" from the Teresa Collins Memory Die Set. Want to know why I cut it out so much? Because I kept meaning to cut it on the glitter side of this paper but twice cut it out on the plain back side instead. Doh! Yep. Everybody does that kind of stuff.

Once I finally remembered to cut "hello" on the right side of the glitter paper it looked gorgeous! I used a little glue and stuck it to the leaves on my wreath. So dainty, so sweet. I love it! I'm using Core'dinations Glitter Silk glitter paper. It rocks.

Seriously. A hot glue gun, cheap craft felt, leaf dies, Teresa Collins hello die, glitter paper, a wreath, the Cut 'n' Boss. You're done.

I hope you enjoyed this project! I had a blast making it!

When I'm not here you can find me at Joy's Life.com!
