DIY Drink Charms

Design Team: Liz O. (Unik By Yes) Week 21 Cycle 9

Happy Tuesday! If your Tuesday is not as happy as it sounds, then pay attention to today's tutorial and get yourself a little wine! See how Liz created a cute party gift using Teresa Collins' 'Social Media' dies!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
I hope you are having a fantastic week so far. I cannot believe September is already here! But it is such an exciting time, it does not matter it almost took me by surprise*wink**wink* Are you wondering why it is exciting?  Well, it is because we get to showcase a few ideas on how to use your Cut’N’Boss along with eBosser!!

Today's project is a "think outside the box" sort of craft: DIY Drink Charms using air dry clay, eBosser and Cut'N'Boss Craftwell Metal dies.

Creative Supplies:
Craftwell's "Stay Connected"metal dies
eBosser
Water proof sealant (I used Outdoor Mod Podge )
Wax paper
Scissors
Round nose pliers
Wire cutter
Gold paint and brush
silver Metallic Artist Pen/ marker
Plastic or glass beads
(2) Sheets of card stock in Contrasting color

Combo plates: A+ wax paper+ air dry clay+wax paper+ C+D
                          A+ wax paper+ Metal Dies+ air dry clay+wax paper+ C+D
Time : 30 min - 1 hr depending on drying time
Difficulty: Easy

Creative process:

First I placed my air dry clay on top of a piece of wax paper and my C plate smooth it out with my fingers place another piece of wax paper and the A plate on top.
Run it through the eBosser ~I know it sounds crazy, but it was fun to "roll it" this way :) since the air dry clay is very light it offers little Resistance.

Remove plate A and wax paper to place your dies on top of the clay. Run it thru your eBosser or Cut'N'Boss again. This is how you get the embossed clay. Since the clay was thicker than the die's cutting edge I cut the excess around the contour of the shapes with scissors.

Punch holes for the wire hoops. Let dry. Paint using gold enamel and a thin brush; you can always use a paint marker or metallic permanent marker/pen. Color the tablet's screen and edge. Seal and let dry.

Create a hoop with your craft wire About 3". Insert a few beads, your charm, add more beads. Bend one end of the hoop. With your round nose pliers create a loop on the other end to create the closure. The loop must be horizontal and the loop on the bent end vertical. Here is a hoop without beads so you to see the process:

NOTE: If you have worked with air dry clay before you know it is fairly easy to roll out and die cut it, but the finished project needs to be sealed otherwise if it comes in contact with water it can dissolve. Truth is I could have used polymer clay but I had none left  :?

To present it, how about creating a quick tag? I used a 4x6" thin metal die with the eBosser. Secure with trendy washi tape, die cut the "trending" word. For the back, die cut another rectangle on contrasting card stock, this can be perfect to write a note to the gift recipient, put these inside a cellophane bag and you are done!

These can be a great house warming gift don't you think? Along with a fine wine bottle of course ;)...
Well that is it for now, I hope you feel inspired to create with your Craftwell dies :) and if you do, please share with us via Facebook, Instagram or tweeter using #craftwell, #eBosser or #cutnboss, @craftwell, we love to see what you create :) thanks for stopping by!

Have a super crafty day!
