Design Team: Caroline Duncan Week 8 Term 5

Lovely Tag

Caroline Duncan is the queen of fancy! She can dress up any piece of paper and make it amazing! See what we mean in the project below:

Making handmade flowers is fun and you can get amazing 3D results. Embossing the die cut petals before you shape and assemble them really adds a lot of interest and texture.

Instructions:

Cut a #8 size tag using TH/Sizzix Tag & Bookplates Die out of TH/Ranger Distress Core’dinations card stock. Emboss the tag with Craftwell’s Divine Damask embossing folder and then sand the raised areas of the tag to reveal the core. Wipe with a soft cloth to remove the fine dust. Spritz the embossed tag lightly with Pearl colored Perfect Pearls and dry with a heat tool. Ink the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Take a #10 manilla tag (4 x 8.5 inches) and prepare the background. Swipe Distress Inks directly onto your craft mat, spritz the inks with water, blot tag into the inks, and dry between layers. I used Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, and Mustard Seed. For the final background layer, spritz the large tag with Pearl colored Perfect Pearls and dry. Stamp Heartfelt Creations word background randomly and lightly by off-stamping once on scratch paper after inking up, using Ranger Archival Plum ink. Stamp the Inkadinkado Background randomly using Adirondack Latte ink. Then stamp Tim Holtz French Market and Spring Sprung stamps using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. Edge the large tag with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Make the sentiment tag by stamping Heartfelt Creations Heartfelt Expressions with Archival Jet Black ink onto a lighter, matching Core’dintations card stock. Round the corners with a corner punch. Emboss the sentiment tag using the inside motif of Craftwell’s Divine Damask embossing folder. Ink the edges with Archival Plum ink. Stamp the Hero Arts background randomly using Latte ink.

To make the flower, die cut matching Core-dinations card stock with Spellbinders Rose Creations Die. Emboss the die cuts in Craftwell’s Divine Damask folder. Sand the raised areas. Shape the petals with your fingers because if you use a ball stylus and foam mat, the embossing will be rubbed flat. Assemble the flower and secure with a brad. Finish the tag with pink organza ribbon, a charm, and an enameled brad.
