Design Team Term 3: Welcome Back Denise!

Welcoming Back: Denise O'Connor!

Today, we start a new term of our Design Team, and we coudn't be any happier to welcome back one of Craftwell's veterans, Denise O'Connor! Denise, has been such an active supporter of our community, and an amazing crafter, that we are just jumping up and down, with excitement to have her back on the team!

And this time,  you get to see her pretty face!

I’ll never forget the day I discovered the world of paper crafting.  For as long as I can remember, I was in search of a hobby that would allow me to be creative and to hold my interest.  You see, I come from a long line of sewing enthusiasts and my mother is a magnificent quilter, but I can’t sew to save my life!  I needed something, but could not find something that sparked that passion in me. One day, shortly after I was married, my husband got called into work and I was faced with a day and nothing to do.  I decided to go to Michael’s to search for the elusive hobby.  There I discovered a small area in the store for scrapbooking.  There were a  kinds of 12x12 patterned paper (none of them very pretty), value packs of cardstock, paper trimmers, decorative scissors and stickers.  That was it.  But there was on display a scrapbook layout that instantly peeked my interest.  I took the plunge and went home with my goodies and spent the day trying to do a scrapbook layout.  It was horrible!  But I was hooked!  Our craft has really expanded since that day!  As the years went on, my scrapbooking layouts got better, and I was able to find so many sources of inspiration.  Eventually I discovered card making, and it became one of my favorite types of projects.  There is nothing like giving a homemade card to someone who appreciates it!  I also love that as a stay at home mom of two rambunctious boys, I can make a card in a short amount of time in between the car pool, the meals, karate classes and tantrums.  I have been doing paper crafts for over 15 years now, and I feel like I have not even come close to learning it all.  There is always room to grow!  Since I have gotten my eCraft, I feel like my crafting has really improved and it has revitalized my creativity.  If you envision a time where you can cut anything that you want out of virtually anything…then the eCraft is most definitely a machine you should look at.  If you are the type of person that accepts that the greatest rewards are worth working for…the eCraft just may be your dream come true.  If you hate the thought of sticky mats…then the eCraft IS for you!  Once you start cutting with the eCraft, you will start to learn the capabilities of this machine and you will quickly learn that this is not your average cutting machine.  The options are endless.  I have cut everything from vellum and vintage book print all the way up to heavy glitter paper, chipboard and Grunge paper.  Learning about all the options can take some time, but it is worth it!  I feel very fortunate to have a wonderful husband, Tom, who supports me and will tell me that what I made is wonderful, even when it’s not!  My boys are the apples of my eye and love to join Mommy for some arts and crafts time.  I hope that you find some inspiration from me and the rest of the gals on the eCraft Design Team.  We are share a common passion and if we can spark a little creativity in you, then we have succeeded.

eCrafting Away!
