Design Team: KimberlyRae Forde Week 1

KimberlyRae Forde: Happy Birthday Carson!

We are loving our Design Team, they are compleately blowing us away! Today, KimberlyRae Forde found a way to store her son's collectibles in a stylish way, and personal way! See her amazing creation:

Today, is my First official blog post for Craftwell, as a Design Team Member!

Yes!  I'm so thrilled to be part of the Amazing Craftwell eCraft Team!  As most of you know I only own one electronic die-cutting machine.  Yep! You guessed it!  The incredible eCraft!  I can't say more about this versatile cutting machine I use everyday and every one of my projects are cut with it and All with No Mat!

I'd like to share a couple of projects I created for my son's birthday- I made this gift box and a card.  He will be 17 years old and he loves to collect small things and stow them away so this was perfect book box, for him.

::Carson's Birthday Book Gift Box::

Ingredients
Craftwell eCraft Die-cutting Machine
Simple Stories 'Year-O-Graphy'
American Crafts Solid Card Stock
SVGcuts 'Attic Treasures' [Antique Book]
Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays [Moon Shadow Turquoise]
Tim Holtz Sander
Tim Holtz Distress Tool
Scotch fast drying tacky glue
glue gun

Instructions
Cut all pieces from SVGcuts cut files with Craftwell eCraft.

Use these settings for the Larger pieces:
4 pressure
no CCS
no tabs

Use these settings for the Smaller pieces:
4 pressure
CSS
no tabs

Then, assemble your pieces creating the the book part first and then the inside pages.

Embellish as desired and you're done!   I sprayed the back with turquoise which turned out a beautiful green/blue shimmery color on black.  Also, I distressed the front and back parts of the book with a sander and the edges of the front cover.  Inside I placed a liner [you can make this out of one of the cover pieces just size it a half inch smaller and it will slide right into the bottom of the box.

It's always challenging to make a male card, so yes there are polka dots but he loves to see his name so this paper kit was great to pull it off!
