Kim's Cute & Easy DIY Magnets

We are loving Xyron products! See how Kim created some adorable retro fridge magets with Xyron's creative station!

Using my eCraft and Xyron tools, I made these quick and easy magnets for my fridge!  I seriously can not stress enough how easy these were to make.  And fun too!  Read on below for the tutorial.
Supplies:

eCraft
Cardstock - I used Bazzill Basics Paper - Vintage Marketplace & Recollections (white and black)
Color Box by Clearsnap in black
Xyron mega runner
Xyron 5 inch creative station with Permenant refill and Laminate Magnet refill
SVG Cuts - Rockin and Rollin SVG Kit (records, music note, jukebox, car) and 24 Valentines SVG Kit (treble clef)
scissors
xacto knife

First I cut out the svg's with my eCraft.  From SVG Cuts Rockin and Rollin kit I resized and then cut out the 33 record at 3 inches wide, the 45 record at 2 inches wide, the car at 4 inches wide, the jukebox at 3.5 inches wide, the music note at 1.25 inches wide and from 24 Valentines SVG kit, the treble clef at 3 inches wide.  Then I inked the edges of my images with black ink. Next, I took the pieces that I wanted to adhere together and ran them through my Xyron 5 inch Creative Station using the Permenant refill and pieced them together.  I also used the mega runner to glue down the small pieces.

After all the svg images were assembled, I changed the Creative Station's refill to the Laminate Magnet refill.  I put the shapes through the Creative Station and ended up with sheets of magnets of the svg images.

The svg shape is  now sandwiched between the magnet and the laminate.  If you see any parts of the laminate that are raised just run your finger over it and press it down and that should help it adhere to your shape. (Try to stick with svg's that don't have too many layers.  The less layers the better the laminate will stick.  In this case, the flatter the better.)
Next, I trimmed off the excess magnet/laminate with my scissors and xacto knife right down to the edge of my shapes.

Yay! The magnets are now done!  This project was so quick and easy, the hardest part I had was picking out which cardstock I wanted to use.

Don't forget to thank your eCraft and Xyron tools for helping you make some awesome magnets for your fridge!

See you next week!

-Kim
