Denise O'Connor: Week 5 Term 2

Denise O'Connor: "Give Me a Ring..."

We are so excited for today's project! Denise O'Connor completely outdid herself, with this adorable card! We are loving all those fold out cards, and when you pair them with eCraft Diecutable Cardstock and Unity Stamps, the result is nothing short of amazing!

Here is her tutorial:

Have I mentioned how much I love this month’s sponsors???? I do, I really do!! The eCraft Diecutable Cardstock is WONDERFUL!! It is seriously my new favorite cardstock, it cuts so cleanly and with a low pressure setting too! Unity Stamps are just GORGEOUS!!! I actually find myself wanting to add more and more of them onto my projects!

I started using the Breezy Backyard Lever Card SVG set from SVGCuts.com. I used the card called “Cool Fan” and I just cut out the Outside piece from Echo Park For the Record Paper, and then the Inside piece in Ripe Tomatoes eCraft Diecutable Cardstock. I also cut the Frame from Licorice eCraft Diecutable Cardstock.

After assembling the base of the card, it was time to get to work on my focal point for this card. Now, since this is a lever card, I had to make sure that everything fit nicely in the rectangle on the front of the card. In case, you aren’t familiar with Lever Cards, here is what the card looks like when it is opened.

So clearly, I had to make sure that my focal point would clear the opening. So I started with this image…

This image can be found on eCraftCentral.com and also on the Jen Allyson Designs card. I opened it in eCraftshop Pro and skewed it so that it would fit nicely in my rectangular opening and cut it in Licorice eCraft Diecutable Cardstock. Next I also cut a bread tag from the Laina Lamb Office Essentials SD Card and guess what??? You can get this image also on eCraftCentral.com.

Pretty cool huh? I cut the bread tag out of some more Echo Park For the Record paper. Now, I was all ready to get out those gorgeous Unity Stamps! I used stamps from the Going Retro stamp set. I started off by taking a few more pieces of Echo Park For the Record paper and stamped the clock image and embossed it with black embossing powder. I added a few smudges of Black Soot Distress Ink to go with the vintage theme. Then I just trimmed it out. Then I stamped the “give me a ring” and cut it in a little banner. I then stamped the phone onto the bread tag and embossed it with white embossing powder. Love it!!

Not quite done yet…do you see the “I’ve Got”. Well those letters are only 1/2” tall and I cut those letters using the eCraft Diecutable Cardstock in Blue Potatoes….yes a 1/2”!!! The font is LD Petticoat from Lettering Delights. The only problem that I had with this…well I lost the apostrophe!!! I had to re-cut that because I could not find it anywhere in the mess on my desk! A little wooden button with some twine added the final touch!
I have to say that this card is one of my favorites now! Hope you all have a great day! Be sure to come back each day this week to see what Debi, Lyssa, Raven, and Jennifer have in store for you!
