Altered Clipboard

Ebrush Design Team: Yolie Burke Week 12 Cycle 3

Hello and welcome this is Yolie ending the week with an altered project.

My husband doesn't have much desk space and he wasn't feeling the pen holder I gave him so I made one to hang on his desk wall.  I took a small clipboard, a tin can and the eBrush and made him a very masculine pen holder.  (See the bottom of the post for the supply list.)

I used the brown Sharpie in high setting of the eBrush and held the wand approximately 2" away from the edge of the clipboard.  I then took the black Sharpie, in the low setting and held the want approximately 3" away from the project.  I wanted to darken it up, but not too much.  I used the same settings and wand placement on all components.

I took my kitchen shears and cut the tin can so it sits flushed against the clipboard.  I then took the typewrite key pattern paper and glued it with matte Mod Podge to the outside and inside of the tin.
I cut out the block letter "B", punched two holes and added the jute and adhered it to the can with hot glue.  I then added hot glue to the edges of the tin can and held it onto the clipboard until the glue completely cooled.

Here is the completed pen holder.  For now it holds a tube of paper clips and markers.  I need to tidy up my husband's work space over the weekend and organize his "command center".

Here is the side view.  I went out to the garage and grabbed a washer and nut from his tool box.  He won't miss them.  I also took a pin and added it the clip.

Thank you for visiting today and enjoy your weekend.

I Love Spring Time by Pam Bray

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Pam Bray Cycle 12

Hi it is Pam today on the Craftwell Blog.
I want to share with you how much I love spring time....
SO...
I decided to grab some chipboard I had laying around and
make me a happy spring time wall frame from scratch.
I love how it turned out!!!

Begin by cutting chipboard and paper for your frame.
I ran the pattern paper through a Xyron Creative Station using permanent adhesive.

Removed it from the adhesive backing and placed it on the  chipboard pieces.
(You can use your favorite adhesive though)
Ink edges with Chestnut Roan Ink.

Die cut pattern paper with doily dies using two A plates, B plate, metal shim,
D plate along with Cut N Boss.
(Hint: to help with intricate dies place parchment paper between the die and pattern paper. )
Adhere to front of prepared frame.

Die cut Sizzix Ornate Frame 2 Die using two A plates and Cut N Boss
along with chipboard and again with pattern paper.

Adhere together and place on front of prepared frame.

Fussy cut flowers from pattern paper, adhere to inside of frame.

Die cut Teresa Collins Memories Pocket Die Corners from pattern paper.
Ink edges, adhere to front of prepared frame.

Die cut two butterflies from Memories Pocket Dies, layer together at the body.
Add metal arrow to the center of butterfly.
Place on prepared frame with pop dots.
Add random gears to front.

Ink corrugated card board with Chestnut Roan ink.
Adhere to front of frame.
Die cut "Love" from Memories Pocket Die Set.
Adhere to top of corrugated paper.
Adhere random gears.
Fussy cut two of the Gilded Lily ladies from pattern paper.
Ink edges.
Layer together with pop dots.
Adhere to top of prepared frame.

I hope you have enjoyed my "I Love Spring Time Frame".
Wonderful way to take that chipboard that is laying around
and make something fabulous for your home.

Mini Album Altered Tin

Ebrush Design Team: Jan Hunter Week 6 Cycle 2

Latina Crafter 2015 LOGO
Latina Crafter is our sponsor for this month again!  I've really enjoyed using their products --

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I shared this mini tag album with you -- and promised to share the storage container.  And here it is featuring a Latina Crafter stencil, the eBrush with the siphon adapter AND the Cut-n-Boss!

IMAG0012
My paper started out as plain light gray.  I used the Cut-n-Boss and the Twill Herringbone embossing folder using the following sandwich from the bottom up, D, A, Embossing folder, A.

CW-CNB-TCH1-2T
After the paper was embossed I got the eBrush out with the siphon adapter and a bottle of ink adding some ink to the well attachment.  Spray the whole page and let dry (It doesn't take long at all).  Rinse the well out and add a bit of water.  Now spray the water - the splotchier the better.  Let dry.

When the paper is dry, turn it wrong side up and trace the top and bottom of your tin.  Mark each. Cut and trim if needed.   Trace again and this time, cut just inside the traced line for the inside top and bottom of the tin.  Measure the width of the top and bottom sides.  (I used one full sheet 8.5 x 11 to cover the tin.  I had a second sheet as back-up if needed.)  Repeat again for the inside if you wish.  Decorate your top as desired.  I chose to use a stencil from Latina Crafter (Cumpleanos) to add a little interest.  The lettering is from a PC lettering set and the heart is an old punch from my stash (so old, the maker's identity has worn off).
Using Modge Podge adhere the pieces.  Let dry.  Tip:  Apply the inside pieces first.  Be sure to trim around the hinges and allow to dry thoroughly BEFORE applying a top coat to the paper both inside and out.
