Scraps, Tips and Candles by Yolie Burke!

We want to thank SaborPapel for celebrating the month of May with us! Please be sure to visit their website and blog! Great company and very creative people! Yolie Burke began our celebration and now her post ends our month!

It's a month long fiesta featuring Sabor Papel, this month's Craftwell sponsor.

Lately, I've been challenging myself to make a little something using scraps.  My birthday card, I used scraps from  Sabor's OlĆ© collection.  I used the eBrush with Tombow markers to add shading to the pieces.

To avoid getting inky fingers, I used painter's tape to hold down my pieces.  I took a 6" strip, with the tacky side up, I folded the ends and taped them down to my working paper.  I gently placed my scraps onto the painter's tape and voilĆ , no inky finger tips or flying scraps.

Here is my birthday card.
Translation:  Make a wish! Blow out the candles!

I found a green doily from my Christmas stash and eBrushed it and added it to the background.
I took the 4"x 6" cut out and trimmed down to 4" x 3 1/2, layered the strips of scraps to the top 3" x 4" cut out.   I used Glue Dots to adhere the yellow top layer and adhered the heart die cut.
I fussy cut the candy and added them along with sequins to the heart die cut.
Finally, I added a jute ribbon to the top and adhered the doily border, it's a doiy punch I've had in my stash forever and a day.

Here is another tip:  I used Mini Glue Dots to adhere the sequins.  It seriously made it so easy.

Thank you for visiting today, enjoy your weekend.

blog hop cinco de mayo

What a fabulous start to a great blog hop! Our wonderful designer Yolie Burke is leading the hopping pack with this musical project. It is beautiful and inspiring.  Read below this post for blog hop information:

It's fiesta time! This is Yolie kicking off the hop with a fun filled crafts celebrating Mexican Culture Day.   So let's get started!

The guitar is a file from SVG Cuts.  I cut all the components and used the eBrush with Sharpies for shading.  I used various pattern paper from Sabor Papel.  I found that DCWV Brights Card Stock Stack coordinates perfectly with Sabor's paper.
The guitar is very easy to assemble.  I used jute for the strings, cut a tag and stamped "fiesta" by Latina Crafter and attached it to the neck of the guitar with a garment pin.

Here is she is!

It's just as pretty in the inside!

eBrushed Birthday Cake

Ebrush Design Team: Yolie Burke  Week 5 Cycle 2

Don't forget to Hop along with Latina Crafter all information at both of Yolie's post!

Greetings! This is Yolie from the Team eBrush.  I am so excited to be sharing my first project using the NEW Siphon adaptor for the eBrush.

Latina Crafter is our sponsor this month and they are celebrating their 4th Birthday.  What better way to celebrate than with CAKE!
I created a stencil with the Latina Crafter logo, of course I got permission first.  I created two separate stencils, one with the logo and the other that reads "happy birthday" in Spanish.  I designed and cut them on the Cricut Explore.

Here is a look at the cut out stencil.

I used the well attachment and used icing food coloring diluted with vanilla extract.  I tested the food coloring on a paper towel to make sure I was happy with the colors.  Make sure you keep extra towels on hand in case you need them.
If you don't already own the the Siphon adaptor  it's available in the Craftwell eShop. It is available separately or in the eBrush Bundle.

Here is the birthday cake!

The cake is 18", double layered, vanilla creme with bananas! Yum!!

I previously created the eBrushed pendant banner.  Details on the banner can be found here.

Here is my GodDaughter blowing out the candles on behalf of Latina Crafter! Happy Birthday Latina Crafter! ¡Feliz CumpleaƱos Latina Crafter!
