Hello, Crafty Friends!!
It's Spring!! And that means green grass growing, birds chirping, flowers blooming, and bunnies... yup, bunnies... bunnies hopping!!
You know what that means... The EASTER BUNNY is coming!!
And I made these a quick and easy Mini Easter Baskets. These would be great tabletop settings at Easter Dinner!!
Supplies Used
Cut'n'boss Machine (Craftwell)
Teresa Collins Pocket Dies- Today, Thankful Holiday, Girl's Best Friend (Craftwell)
Lori Whitlock- Basket #2 (Sizzix)
Chit Chat Stack, Project Stack Stencil
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Flower Brads
Paper Shreds
Candy
Did you know that you can use steel rule dies in your machine?? Well, you can!! It does take a slightly different platform combination... but don't worry, it's an easy one!
For Steel Rule Dies use the following Combination
A PLATE
STEEL RULE DIE & PAPER (or paper then die)
A PLATE
Easy Peasy, right??!!
I used that combination to cut burlap out with this basket die!
I ran my die through twice and made 2 cut outs. The die only cuts half a basket at a time.
Then I folded on the crease lines. I aligned all the holes together (including the ones on the basket handle) and fastened them with a brad. Now that the basket is assembled, I secured the basket halves in place with hot glue.
To decorate my basket I die cut out coordinating paper with this flower pocket die from the Teresa Collins Thankful Holiday die set.
For each basket, I used 4 flowers. I stacked each on one another and punched a while through them all at the same time. I inserted a flower shaped brad through the hole. Then turn the flowers so the petals of the next flower showed through the petals of the flower before it. Then curled the flower petals to give them more dimension.
I also die cut bows, from the Teresa Collins Girl's Best Friend die set, out of craft cardstock. I assembled each bow and secured them with more hot glue. Then I hot glued the flowers to the centers of each bow.
I also die cut butterflies, from the Teresa Collins Today die set, with the same paper I used to make the flowers. Then I slightly curled the ends and arched my butterfly wings. Then hot glue each butterfly onto a basket handle.
Here is the finished basket...
I also made them in a few other colors.
These are perfect for dinner parties or classroom treats. I don't think even the Easter bunny can resist them!
I hope you enjoyed this project!!
Until next time...
HAPPY CRAFTING!!
