Ebrush Design Team: Jan Hunter Week 6 Cycle 1
What a great idea. I love this project geared to a great outcome! Keep 'em coming Jan!
To create this project you'll need:
1 flat ornament (a Dollar Tree Find)
1 8x11 inch sheet of clear shrink art plastic
1 2x3 inch vinyl (scraps are great) or contact paper
Spectrum Noir Markers (BT3, PP2, LG2, LY2, GTI, HB3 )
Craftwell eBrush
Electronic Cutting machine and software
Double Layer Tag base - from SvgCuts.com
Choose your focus word - Place a square, circle or oval that will cover the front of the ornament. Add your focus word and place on top of the shape. Using tools in your software, Back minus Front command, check preview to make sure that the letters will cut. Then cut Again, mine is BE. set aside. (I cut two to be safe!)
Place the desired label SVG file on your mat x 12 and cut using the shrink art material. (My software has a specific setting for that ) Tip: cut 2 times without removing the mat between cuts or use the multiple cut feature in your software. My labels were imported at the same size as the original file. Remember, shrink art materials shrinks to about 1/3 of the original size.
Weed the vinyl - remove the letters only, but keep the outside square, oval or circle. Place the vinyl on the clean ornament and spray with the eBrush as desired. Carefully, remove the vinyl and set aside (as in picture above).
Take one of your labels (my shrink art was pre-sanded) and spray as desired. I did two of each color and sprayed in an omber pattern on all of them. I used a sharpie to hand draw each of my words. That worked really well. Then shrink according to manufacturer's directions.
If desired you can add a jump ring to each "charm" and string on a larger ring for safe keeping until needed. I had a small piece of chain left over from a previous project and added the charm for January to it and wrapped it around the mouth of the ornament and replaced the cap after spraying it in the same color as my words.
This is a relatively quick and easy project -- and would be a great project for children to complete with adult supervision. Thanks for looking. You can find this and more on my blog, izbzee.typepad.com.
The eBrush is a fun tool to use! Join us each month for more fun ideas! Happy Creating!
Don't forget to check the CraftwellUSA blog for additional projects each and every month!
My eBrush is en route to me, I hope that I'm as talented with mine as the Craftwell Design Team is with theirs.
