Back To School 'Apple' Treat Box

Design Team: Liz O (Unik By Yes) Week 18 Cycle 9

Back to school is happening all over the US right now, and we are excited for our design team to bring you ideas! See how to create this cute treat box for your kids teacher below!

I hope you are having a great week so far J Liz here today to share with you another fun project featuring products our August sponsor: Fancy Pants!!!! – LOVE their products!

With Back to School around the corner, I am sharing another B2S related project. This time an Apple shaped box with a few magnets and treats inside,

Creative supplies:

Fancy Pants, Meology and Everyday Circus Flair Paper and Embellishments
Magnet Tape
Quilling metal dies for leaves and “paper grass”
Paper for grass
Paper crimper
eBosser
Paper trimmer
Strong hold adhesive of your choice
MKC’ apple SVG file
eCraft

Creative process:

For the magnets I removed the foam dimensional from the back of the embellishments and replace it with adhesive backed magnet tape.

For the box I used eCraftshop Pro to resize MKC Apple SVG. I created blackouts out of thin chip board and red card stock  (for the interior layer, liner) and shadows out of red card stock (exterior layers) to create the bases of the box and the lid. The lid is slightly bigger than the box so it would fit snuggly ;).

Cut (2) 6”x3” strips of Fancy Pants corrugated paper, score at ¼” on one of the wider edges and create a fringe to help you adhere to the chipboard pieces.

To join two strips of paper, “split” the corrugated card stock, by separating the layers and then “sandwich” the new strip between the split papers.

For the lid I used “1.5” wide strips for the contour instead of the 3” wide.

Finish by glueing a “shadow cut” to the bottom of the box and a complete “half apple” cut to the lid. Crimple several paper strips to create the “grass” place inside of the box along with the magnets and a few treats for a sweet back to school gift!

As always thank you for stopping by, have a super crafty day!

Liz
