Avery Elle Challenge Week: From Card to Scrapbook Page

Guest Designer: Jazmin Gibbons Week 11

We have another card translation from our Team Craftwell resident, Jazmin Gibbons. She took on the Avery Elle challenge to get inspiration from their inspiration cards and create a scrapbook layout inspired by elements found in the inspiration cards by Avery Elle's design team.

See what she chose and created today!

Hi everyone!

Super excited to do this challenge! I get asked to guest from time to time, and this time I was really excited create something different, yet add the same feel to it as my inspiration cards.

I went to Avery Elle's design team blog to choose my inspiration. First of all, WOW! Avery Elle has inspiration galore in their idea gallery! Very cool designs! I encourage you to head over and see what speaks to you! I think challenging yourself from time time is great! It really gets you out of our comfort zone and helps you grow creatively.

I created my layout based on these two cards.

(cards created by Avery Elle's design team) ^

It was REALLY hard to choose between the two! I loved the black and white of the one of the right, but loved the texture of the card on the left... So, I decided to use both!

This is my layout:

So, I'm terrible at cropping^  I hope it doesn't throw you off! But I used Teresa Collins 'Woodgrain' embossing folder & her new 'Studio Gold' dies to cut out the wooden stars.

I wanted the layout to be monochromatic but with a bit of sparkle. I used Avery Elle's Laurels dies & Stamp set, to cut out the vines, and stamp the words 'The best is yet to be'  LOVE those stamps and font!

I used the stars and vines to mimic the cards. Used white thickers to mimic the 'hello' word from the card on the left.

I hope the essence of both cards can be seen in my layout!

Thanks for letting me guest!

Jazmin
