Design Team: Celeste Collette Week 2 Cycle 8

Spooky Banner

If this mantle is not 'pin' worthy, then we don't know what is! See all the details on how Celeste Collette created this gorgeous banner for her spooky mantel!

As Halloween approaches the more excited I get! Last month you all know that I was busy making Halloween decorations for my house, and I recently decided that I wanted to add some more. So after decorating my mantel I noticed that a need a little something, so I went ahead and made this “Spooky” banner. It was so easy to make and you don’t need a whole lot to make it.

Here’s what I used:

*“Thirty-One” Paper Pad from Pebbles
*eBosser
*Teresa Collins “décor circles”embossing folder
*Ribbon
*Glue

I selected two different types of Halloween paper from the “Thirty-One” collection paper pad, I decided that I wanted to stick to creams and a little bit of black and orange. After chosing my paper I cute out the banner pieces. Looking through my cardstock I found a stack of cream color ones and  black color ones and I knew they would be perfect for the banner. I cut them into squares, and then I embossed them with Teresa Collins “décor circles” embossing folder (I’m not sure if you have noticed from my past projects this is one of my favorite folders!). I added the solid black carstock paper behind the cream to make it pop a little more. After that I went ahead and cut out the word “SPOOKY” and glued them to the embossed cream paper.
I used some orange ribbon (though I wish I would have used black instead) and threaded them through each banner piece. The end result was a cute banner that it’s “not too scary” for a “not too scary” looking mantel.

Make sure you check out my blog, I will be posting pictures of all my Halloween decorations around the my house!
