Design Team: KimberlyRae Forde Week 15 Term 4

Frame Pin Cushion!

Our Design Team girls are having so much fun with our October sponsor Cooler Cocepts! See what KimberlyRae created today!

Yes! It’s True!
My pin cushion is made with Shrink Film from
Cooler Concepts! Can you guess where?
Ok, get your supplies out…Gift Giving season is coming up-that’s Everyday, right?!

Ingredients

  • Craftwell eCraft Mat’less’ cutting machine
  • Cooler Concepts Shrink Film
  • Lindy’s Stamp Gang Sprays
  • Maya Road Twine
  • Glossy Accents
  • 3×4 frame
  • Fabric
  • Polyfil
  • Pins
  • Beads
  • Corrugated paper
  • Heat/embossing Gun
  • Toothpicks
  • Hot Glue
I started out opening my SCAL [Sure Cuts a Lot] software and used the flower from the ‘shapes’ within the program. Size to 1.5″ and they will be perfect for your pins and Copy and paste four, then cut with my eCraft.

Then, using my heat gun and an old Fiskar’s cutting mat I shrunk the flowers.
Place flower bits on some old packing paper and spray with Hydrangea and California Poppy Gold. Set aside to dry on toothpicks. I stick mine in an old brad holder…works great!
After they dried I adhered the flower to a bead-top sewing pin and placed another pin under the flower, with glossy accents.

Then, I made the Pin Cushion part from a piece of ME fabric from my stash and placed polyfil inside and hot glued it to cut piece of corrugated paper and inserted into the frame area. Discard glass.
So, for the legs of the Frame, I cut 12 circles, shrunk them, hot glued 3 together for each leg and wrapped with twine. Then, glossy accented each leg post on the ends so my pin cushion doesn’t slide.
