Lyssa Zimmerman: "e" is for Exellent Wall Art
We are excited for today's project! Lyssa Zimmerman decided to give us some adorable wall art using our favorite material right now: Burlap! Burlap is sexy, and he knows it! And it seems to be popping up everywhere! But Burlap alone, couldn't do it all! Lyssa used our February sponsors, Unity Stamps and eCraft die-cutable cardstock to create an eXecellent display!
Here is her how-to:
This week, I am excited to share this:
I've been trying to finish the walls in my
girls room. They share a room and each has their own wall. So I made this for my daughter, Emma. I was able to
use the Unity Stamps CutMates paper for the banner.
To cut the "e" I made a Freezer Paper sandwich (as I like to
call it) and cut it with the awesome eCraft :) Remember when
cutting fabric to have no tabs and pressure to 8 :)
I embellished it up with some lace, flowers
and jewels I had on hand. And of course, burlap :) Burlap is so hot right now...
Have you used Burlap for any projects lately?! It's a perfect backdrop!! Try it!

The frame is great, your daughter will love it.
ReplyDeletestupid question :)
As a newcomer to the eCraft machine, for the freezer paper sandwich, do you mean freezer paper ironed to the top and bottom of the fabric, then fed through the machine.
Yes Carol, that's my freezer paper sandwich :)
ReplyDeleteBut you could also use heat n bond on the bottom and then freezer paper on top of the fabric so you could iron it on something. Just make sure to iron on the freezer paper first, then the heat n bond last :)
This is beautiful. I love the colors and style...and guess what I just bought an ecraft on hsn (OK, I just got another machine for Xmas, but could not resist!). Cannot wait to try it out! You were one of the reasons I really wanted one too!
ReplyDeleteHolly, I love you to bits!
