Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Suzanna Lee Week 2 Cycle 10
Suzanna Lee is back this week with a gorgeous spooky Halloween layout! See how she used the Cut 'n' Boss, and Teresa Collins Lifestyle Dies to create today's project!
Suzanna back again to share with you a Halloween layout featuring all kinds of embossed and die cut goodness using the Craftwell TC Cut'N'Boss!
Have you ever thought about or noticed that we hold certain beliefs as to what elements ought to be on holiday or themed layouts? I associate vellum with Halloween layouts. Perhaps it's something to do with ghosts but that opaque needs to be on my layouts. This layout incorporates vellum using the TC Cut'N'Boss.
Beginning at the top of the layout, the stars. I actually used the TC Cut'N'Boss and the stars from the Lifestyle collection pocket dies to cut OUT stars from my background. I then backed those "holes" that remained with vellum. Not wanting to waste, I then used the actual stars on my background after sanding the Core'dinations chalkboard cardstock, thus leaving the white edge. A touch of sanding created the perfect Halloween night sky, don't you think?
I also incorporated vellum behind the forefront elements on the bottom of the page. I ran a sheet of vellum through the woodgrain embossing folder in my Cut'N'Boss for a fun whirly background against the night sky.
No additional shims necessary with the vellum. Above is the "sandwich" used for the Core'dinations vellum which I ran through with the Teresa Collins woodgrain embossing folder.
I also ran a Polaroid TC Lifestyle collection pocket die that said "happy" through and overlaid that on some embossed Core'dinations color chalkboard cardstock which I sanded for a very neat effect. It just amazes me what one can with with dies and embossing folders. You truly can create amazingly detailed and textured layouts with just cardstock!
Thanks for stopping in today!

Thank you Suzanna!
We are loving all the distressing and use of stars! What is your favorite detail in today's project?
Love that you used the dies to "cut out" as opposed to adding the cut out shapes! And, I also love the fact you used the frame as a accent piece rather than use it as a frame! Great layout!
ReplyDeletesuch a fun way to make this a one of kind layout!
