Denise O'Connor: Best Seat in the House...
We are so loving our sponsors for January! DCWV and Mr. Cricut Crazy stamps go together, like bread and butter! And we are absolutely loving all these puppy stamps! It's secretly making us want a dog, just to have an excuse to make these cards! Today, Denise O'Connor will let us know, what we would need to do, if we wanted the best seat in her house!
I’m back with another project made using the fabulous Die Cuts With A View (DCWV) Collage Musings Stack and Mr. Cricut Crazy
Stamps! As I mentioned in my last project, I had some trouble pairing
up this paper with the cute little dogs in the Gus stamp set. I also
talked about how once the ideas started flowing, they just kept on
coming.
What
inspired me for this week’s card was the sentiment! “If you want the
best seat in the house…move the dog!” Well it got me thinking about my
favorite seat in my house. My favorite seat is a chair that is covered
in a really funky fabric. This fabric is cream, olive green, and brown
and the pattern is a collection of the letter O. Since my last name is
O’Connor, how could I NOT get this chair? At first, my husband thought I
was crazy, but now he admits that this funky chair fits in perfectly in
our family room. This chair also happens to be where I can find our two
sons squished in cuddling together to watch TV. I dread the day when
they are too big to sit there together!!!
So,
I imagined that if we had a dog, that funky “O” chair is probably where
the dog would sit too. So, as I looked at the paper in the DCWV Collage
Musings Stack, I realized that a lot of these papers could work as
fabrics for furniture. So with that in mind, I decided to make my cute
little dog their own funky chair.
This card is 5 1/2”x5 1/2” with the top layer at 5”x5”. I cut out all the pieces of the chair from the Lettering Delights
Elephant in the Room set. Since DCWV is very good about having the
papers in a stack coordinate well with one another, it was not hard to
find 3 papers to make up my funky chair.
Of
course, I HAD to Copic color the dog. I mean how cute is she? I also
added a little bow of Divine Twine from Mr. Cricut Crazy to her so that
everyone knows that she is the “queen” of this house!
Oh,
and notice that floor? That is another great paper from the DCWV
Collage Musings Stack! When I saw it, I just knew it was perfect to
ground the card! I love the glossy squares, on the paper!
DCWV’s
patterned papers cut SO well in the eCraft too! Those swirly details in
the arms of the chairs cut like a breeze! I did all of my cutting with
their papers on a pressure of 5 with a veggie mat stabilizer, blade cap
on. A little inking around the edges of all the chair layers made
everything come together very nicely!
Make
sure to come back everyday this week for more great projects by Debi,
Lyssa, Raven, and Jen! And don’t forget about the special Saturday post
too!

Thank you Denise! So, OK you probably don't need a dog to make these cards, but any reason to get a dog is a good reason! Do YOU have a dog? do you scrap his pictures, into your family scrapbook??? Share it with us if you do! We would love to see your puppy creations!
