Lisa Somerville's Joy Stocking

Our design team, has us adding more things to our holiday to-do list and it just keeps getting bigger! Today, we have an awesome ornament by the talented Lisa Somerville, that we are dying to replicate! Here is how she did it:

Card Stock Stabilizer used

Iron Heat and Bond onto your printed and Muslin fabrics.

Open eCraft Pro Software, cut tag image from Sticky Back Canvas, stamp Pink by Design sentiment in Black Archival, let dry. Add Gold Stickles to snowflake, set aside.

Open SCAL software; create 1” x 1” squares (I added 30 squares for my project). Cut squares from printed fabric.

Remove Heat and Bond Backing and iron squares onto Muslin fabric to form a patchwork pattern. Continue doing this until you have enough squares that are a bit larger than the design you are going to cut. Set aside.

Open SCAL software, open stocking image. I removed some of the nodes from my image to enable it to cut a bit faster. To remove the nodes simple hit Path>Union>Shape Tool>Backspace. Then copy and mirror your image.

Insert patchwork/muslin piece into your eCraft with the Heat and Bond side facing up, cut your stockings. Remove from machine, set aside.

Cut TWO additional stockings from Muslin.

Cut the top off your patchwork stockings; cut one pair of the muslin stockings as shown.

Iron patchwork stocking to larger muslin stocking; iron cut cuff onto stocking.

Flip stockings over; remove Heat and Bond paper, place cotton as shown. Place stocking image on top of cotton, lightly iron to help adhere, so that you can sew stockings together.

Sew Stockings with machine, or whip stitch.
