'Heart You' Card Ideas!

Cut 'n' Boss Design Team: Alexia Misso Week 2 Cycle 10

Gorgeous cards alert! Need some card making inspiration? Check out what Alexia Misso created below!

Hello all crafty friends! How are you today?

It’s me Alexia, it’s my turn to post today and I’m going to share with you two cards I made using Craftwell Teresa Collins dies (love them!!).  These dies are so versatile that you can use it in so many different ways!  Now, let’s take look at some of the ways that you can create with these dies, shall we?

First up is this Thank You card! I love the heart-shape so much I used the same die to create the outer ring (circle only) and the original shape itself which is the layer beneath.  To do this, you need to cut two of the same shape then you take one of the cut-out and run it through the same die again, the only difference is this time you need to position the cut-out on the die in a certain way in which it will trim the heart out from the circle. Glue the result and original shape together (use different colors/patterns of card stocks to show the difference in each layer). Place colored card stock in the background and pop the main card with double-sided foam stickers.

Second card for today is this Happy Couple Card. I used the Happy frame die to create this happy couple shaker card with heart-shape die-cutting in the background. For this card, first you will need to use the heart-shape dies from Teresa Collins and create what will be displayed in the background of the shaker card. I die-cut the heart shape ring on a ivory card stock and a glittered pink card stock, remove the ivory heart-shape ring and replaced it with the pink heart-shape ring.  After that use a smaller heart-shape die,  die cut on the shape you just created and also on a glittered pink card stock. In the same way, remove the cut-out and replace it with pink cut-out shape. It sounds complicated but it’s not, I call this the “Fill in the blank” technique if you get what I mean. Hehe.

As for the frame itself, adhere a piece of acrylic rectangle to the back of the cut-out frame, trim the excess if any. Use double-sided foam stickers on all  edges of the frame (remember to put some sequins in the center before you seal it up) and stick on to the background. This will give some room for the sequins to move around when you shake it.

I hope you like the cards! Thank you for visiting today and happy creating!

  1. Alexia,
You're so smart! That "Thank You" card just rocks my world. I would never have thought to use the dies that way. #Awesome! Like you, I think that "happy" die makes a perfect shaker card! Great cards!
