Design Team: Caroline Duncan Week 3 Term 5

Metal Magic

Does the eBosser emboss metal? Why, yes it does! See what Caroline Duncan created today using the eBosser and some metal!

I thought I’d make this metal embossed tag to show what an amazing job the eBosser does with metal. The metal I used is 40 gauge aluminum. It shows the deep embossing beautifully! Then I put the finished tag on a card to make a fun, any time card and I can add any sentiment on the inside to fit the occasion.

Products Used:
ebosser by Craftwell
Craftwell eBosser Magic Celebration embossing folder
Sizzix Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates Movers & Shapers Die
Mocha 40 gauge metal (Ten Seconds Studio)
Tissue paper
Spackle
Humungo Killer Adhesive Tape Sheet (Ten Seconds Studio)
Sanding block
#8 manila tag
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glazes (shy violet, wicked, orange crush)
Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Core’dinations card stock
Ribbon

Instructions: Die cut the metal using the Tag and Bookplates Movers & Shapers Die in the following platform sandwich: (from bottom up) A, die, metal, A. Then emboss the metal tag in the Magic Celebration folder using the standard embossing platform sandwich of (bottom to top) D, C, embossing folder with metal and tissue paper, A. Use 2 layers of basic gift wrapping type tissue paper between the folder and the metal to prevent the metal from being cut. You have to do this any type of embossing machine if you use thin metal instead of hand embossing with a paper stump. After embossing, fill the back side with spackle and let dry. This will keep your metal piece from being mashed when handled or mailed. Attach the metal tag to a manila tag for stability with adhesive tape. Then sand raised areas on the front and paint with Glimmer Glazes. Let dry thoroughly. Add a ribbon and attach to a card front if desired. My finished card is left fold and 4 x 7 inches.
